Subject: Remembering Nicole
I met Nikki as I did many of my life long college friends working at the Holiday in St. Cloud. She was full of energy and always smiling. We shared a joy for orange soda and ranted how orange soda makes everything better. She was loved by everyone at the truckstop, we were much like a family. I couldn't imagine my college years without her - she was a great smile to see and had a zest for life that was to be envied. She always called me out by first and last name, and we shared that moment for the last time as we ran into each other at the Holiday in St. Bonifacius about 3 years ago. I won't hold back in saying that it is sick and disgusting how people hurt others in many forms of abuse, and in result we have lost an amazing person. Nikki was a treasured soul living amongst us and is missed by many. She loved her family and spoke of her brother Dustin often. From the bottom of my heart, I wish to not only send my condolences to the Meier family, but thank you as well for creating awareness with this foundation.

Subject: Honoring Nikki's Memory
Hi! Dustin I did not really get to know you kids. I worked at ADM with your Dad, since 1971. I did not see him daily, but I know he is a great guy. I accidently bumped into them today in Mankato. All the sadness I felt when I heard about Nikkie being a victim came back. I was able to visit with them for a short while. I met your Mom, a wonderful lady. I can feel the pain they are still suffering. I will make a contribution to the foundation, soon. Your Mom had mentioned there had been a foundation set up. I am posting a poem in Nikki's memory on my facebook page tomorrow. I have posted original poems daily since Feb 1. Ironically, this coincides with the tragedy Nikkie sucummbed to. Your family is in my heart and prayers. Sincerely Jan

I didn't know Nikki or her family. A co-worker of mine (Margo) is good friends with the Meier family. To see Margo go through such a hard time here at work has definitely made me see and realize what an amazing daughter, sister, friend, co-worker and person Nikki truly was. I can't even imagine what Nikki's family is going through at this most difficult time ever. My heart just ached everytime I would read the paper and see an article about Nikki. I just kept on thinking... I wish there was something I could do or say to make things better for her family and friends. But there is nothing you can do to bring back the wonderful, happy, sweet, beautiful girl that she was. You will forever have memories to hold on to. I'm so sorry for your loss!!! HUGS

Nicole was a co-worker and more importantly a great friend to many here at Japs Olson. I will never forget her infectious smile, boundless energy and her caring personality. No matter how many times she asked Jonesy and I to move the tables in the conference room . . . to get the perfect layout, we would because well . . . it was Nicole and she was awesome!!!!
Thanks for building this site, what a wonderful way to create awareness and to remember Nicole. To the Meier family, my thoughts and prayers.
